Monthly Goals: In Review
1. Lose 4lbs
Not four, but I lost almost three and that's good enough for me! Especially considering this last week I've had almost no motivation.
2. Finish reading Insurgent
I really didn't even get back into this book until the second last week of January, but I did manage to finish it and I'm very proud of myself considering I'm an absolute master at procrastination and mindlessly browsing the internet.
3. Get my phone fixed
Nope. A lack of money and also I've been putting it off because I'm still so fed up that it's broken! Sense? Logic? No you wont find that here!
4. Read more of Don't Sweat the Small Stuff
Uhhh, also a no on this one, but I have been reading Divergent and to be fair it's the second book I've read in two years so I'm giving myself some slack on the reading front.

Happy Little Things: January
I think it's important to appreciate both the big, and little, things in life. It's very easy to get caught up in the big things that happen but get down in the in-between moments. I like to make note and notice the small things to keep positive. Here's five things that made me happy during the month of January.
Gym
I've been going to the gym for almost three months now and when I began I really didn't know how often I was going to use it! I had great intentions of going all the time, but I really had no idea if I'd even like it. So far I've gone five days a week for almost every week I've had a membership. I love the feeling of a good work out and I love going for a relaxing swim, and even a trip to the sauna, afterwards.
Make Up Days
As I mentioned above, I go to the gym quite a lot now, and I go around mid-day when it's in a quite period. Because I go at such an odd time, I don't wear make-up before the gym (I'll have to take it all off after an hour or so), and I obviously don't wear make-up to the gym (that would be silly), and I don't wear it after the gym (except for a small amount to cover my rosacea, and then I'm usually home for the evening), I really really love the days I can do a face of make-up! I've really been taking pleasure in it.
Reading
It's been a while since I've read books. I usually binge read a few books and then I give up for a few months. I've rekindled my love of sitting down and getting lost in a good story.
New Bed Covers
Nothing beats the feeling of brand new bed covers! Especially ones you've had your eye on for months and months.
Spotify
For a long time now I was under the impression that Spotify was a pay only service. I think because I got a free trial when I got my iPad first I just assumed it was that way. It wasn't until recently I found out that it's in fact, free, but with the miniscule hassle of few ads. I can't explain how much I really love this app. I love listening to it while I get ready in the morning or as background while I'm catching up with some blogs.

Getting Juicy!
I had wanted a juicer for a while but I was afraid I mightn't use it enough to make it worth the money, or that it was going to be expensive buying all the fruit I needed to juice! I wasn't necessarily in the market for one but last year I saw one on sale and I had to pick it up! And I LOVE it. The juicer I picked up was the Andrew James juicer.
It takes whole, unpeeled fruit and vegetables, which is great because it saves so much time when you don't have to peel/core/cut the fruit and veg! It separates the pulp from the fruit which is super handy, although I do feel there's still some juice that I could get out of the remaining pulp, but not too much more. It's also really easy to take apart and clean which is great because it's not off putting to make a juice because of the cleaning.
The juice I usually make is so easy and tasty and I almost always have these ingredients in my house: carrots, celery, apples and cucumber and today I decided to add some kale in too! I really want to try new juices to help in my journey for fitness and health because I've slipped a small bit in the months before Christmas, and I really want to feel good in myself once again.

My To Do: January
I've decided that I'm going to do little 'monthly goals'. I don't mean anything too big or serious, but just little things I want to accomplish and I feel if I at least set myself a time limit then I might be a bit more motivated to accomplish them! So lets go!
1. Lose 4lbs
2. Finish reading Insurgent
3. Get my phone fixed
4. Read more of Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

A New Year!
It's been a while since I've blogged and in 2015 I'd really love to do it more often, I really miss writing and I need to get over my fear of not being good enough or having good photos or a good layout and just go for it!
This year I'm making some good resolutions, usually I don't make ones that aren't going to be achievable, but that I really need to kick myself into gear with!
I decided to sort my resolutions into categories so that they don't seem so daunting, and also, I like to be organised.
Health
- Go to the gym at least 4 times a week
- Drink at least 3 glasses of water a day
- Drink a mug of dandelion tea a day
- Try running
- Eat when I'm hungry and not bored/upset
- Make at least one juice a day
- Find work.
- Read at least 10 books
- Try new recipes
- Unplug more - stop mindlessly browsing
- Take more personal photos
- Write out my recipe cards
- Fix my hard-drive
- Finish my DS games
- Keep up to date with my 5 year journal
- Print out my photos from my hard-drive
- Finish my photo albums
- Save more
- Find 2 new authors
- Leave a room the way I found it (I.E. Tidy!!!)
- Be organized
- Get my nails to a shape I like
- Use my dry brush every day
- Buy a new vanity
I feel very optimistic about this year and I hope (very hard) that it all goes to plan and that I can keep these resolutions! Happy New Year to whoever is reading and I really hope it's a fantastic year for you.
